Classes
TINY TOTS (Royal Academy of Dance Early Childhood Learning Curriculum)
Through the use of movement, song, mime and props, children are taught many skills such as coordination, motor skills, musicality, rhythm, concentration and following instruction. Each week, children are taken on an adventure – your child will never guess where we’re going next! There is much fun to be had when you’re performing at the circus, visiting fairyland or discovering outer space. Our themed classes provide you with the opportunity to explore and develop their imagination
CLASSICAL BALLET (RAD Examinations offered Pre-Primary - Advanced 2)
Classical ballet training at Ignite promotes good posture, poise and strength, while developing confidence and self-esteem within each individual.
Teaching the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Syllabus, opportunities exist for both the young enthusiastic dancer and the aspiring professional student. Classes are available for girls and boys from Pre-Primary to Advanced 2. Students are invited to sit for an Examination or Class Award from Primary Ballet upwards.
CONTEMPORARY DANCE (CSTD Examinations offered in Jason Winters Contemporary Dance Syllabus)
Pushing classical boundaries, contemporary offers the dancer emotional freedom and expression through abstract movement. Utilising all dimensions, contemporary dance can explore the self and interpret the broader external elements of life. Ignite Dance Studio studies the Jason Winters CSTD Contemporary Dance Syllabus.
JAZZ (CSTD Examinations offered for all grades)
A modern and energetic style of dance for all ages that combines popular music with strong and dynamic movement. Jazz at Ignite builds on the already vast variety of styles by continuing to incorporate choreography that is innovative and entertaining. Jazz classes offer a unique and fun program that promotes both fitness and flexibility.
TAP (CSTD Examinations offered for all grades)
A fun and rhythmical form of dance that encourages musicality and co-ordination. Tap builds on a percussive style that can accentuate rhythms or make music of its own. Ignite follows the CSTD Tapping Syllabus & Christine Denny's Tapatak Oz Syllabus.
ACROBATICS (CSTD Examination Syllabus offered in the Theatrical Syllabus)
Acrobatics involves balance, agility and coordination. Students benefit greatly from the limbering and stretching skills that are developed, and the increased flexibility gained from acrobatics complements many other dance styles. All Acrobatics classes are taught using specialized acrobatic mats to ensure the safety of all students.
MUSICAL THEATRE
Musical Theatre combines acting, music & song. The emotional content of the piece – humour, grief, love, anger – as well as the story itself, is communicated through the words, music, movement and technical aspects of the entertainment as an integrated whole.
SONG & DANCE
Do you want to sing, dance and act all in the one class? Then song & dance is for you! Learn how to sing, dance and act along with staging, emotions, and much much more!
